Description
Pressure drop computations are made for ventilation plants of metro project using 3D CFD OpenFOAM. Software package is first validated against literature, and simplified cases are studied. The specific issue of connecting a fan with an extraction plenum is then explored. The method is then applied to real projects at design stage to improve ventilation plant efficiency and avoid premature wear of the fans.
